Main Toolbar

The main toolbar sits at the top of the editor and provides controls that affect both panels.


What the main toolbar does

  • Controls shared editor behavior
  • Toggles comparison and sync features
  • Manages sidebar panels
  • Shows collaboration status

Toolbar actions

Sync Scroll

Toggle synchronized scrolling between the left and right panels.

  • When enabled, scrolling one panel scrolls the other
  • Keeps content aligned for easier comparison

Diff

Toggle diff highlighting between panels.

  • When enabled, differences are shown with green (added) and red (removed)
  • Updates in real time as you edit

Versions

Toggle the version history sidebar.

  • Browse past versions
  • Restore or compare versions

Files

Toggle the files sidebar.

  • Browse available documents
  • Load a document into a panel

Settings

Open editor settings.

  • Configure editor preferences
  • Toggle version tracking and auto-repair

New Document

Create a fresh empty document.


Toolbar Position

Move the toolbar between the top and middle of the editor.


Collaboration controls

When sharing a document, additional controls appear:

  • Manage Shares — configure sharing permissions
  • Take Control — request editing control during a presentation
  • Release Control — return to spectator mode

Toggle states

Toggle buttons (Sync Scroll, Diff) show their current state:

  • ON — feature is active
  • OFF — feature is inactive
